I'm thinking about making a run for Congress as a Libertarian in 2004 or 2006. This is a very disturbing thought for me, a lifelong Republican. Unfortunately, I can no longer support the party of Lincoln. I have had enough.
George Bush is a fool. I think that many people within his own party, and many of his supporters, recognize this. He was not a bad peace-time president, but as we ratchet our way up the ladder to war, I am more and more disturbed by the bizarrely fascistic overtones that pollute otherwise seemingly sane policies.
Meanwhile, there is no conflict or dissent within the Republican party. Trent Lott has got his bully boys in line, and he's making anyone with a mind of his own a target for their tender ministrations.
I have no idea where I going here. I am lost.
