Well, it's a little less than a week since I rapped at ya last, peeps. I've been busy, what with having bought Freedom Force and being in the beta for TradeWars Dark Millenium, yet another MMOG. But it is cool, since it is Tradewars, which was the greatest of the *.Wars games from the early days of BBS playing. Also, I saw Panic Room, and I thought it was really really good, except I must have missed something between the end of the last act and the denouement, because it made no sense to me (go see it and tell me if you're not confused).

Later this week I return to my stomping grounds in Oxford, to participate in the great Bohemian book-masturbatory fest of 2002... er, the Oxford Conference for the Book. I hope to run into one of my writing heroes, Barry Hannah, who is an acquaintance and a man I deeply admire. I also hope to run into this dreamy dame I met shortly before I moved away. Her legs go all the way up. Also, she's got the most amazing smile, and beautiful hair, and I could go on and on and on and on...

I have purchased the Usual Suspectes Special Edition DVD, and it is fantastic. The director commentary is great, particularly since it includes the writer, Chris McQuarrie. Also, there is a commentary track by the editor and composer, John Ottman, who is the pudgiest movie uber-geek I've ever seen while not looking in the mirror. He's damn funny, and a good editor/music guy. Brian and Chris spend most of their time making fun of all the bloopers in the film (Gabriel Byrne's disappearing, reappearing, lit, unlit cigarette the most prominent of these) and there is a flippin' hilarious gag reel with a rap by Bryan Singer. I nearly shat myself laughing.

If you like the Suspects, get this. If you've never seen the movie, get the DVD. I got it for $16.99 at Best Buy (sale). You owe it to yourself.

Well, my article was received, and some people liked it, but since I wasn't bitching about something, it didn't get much response. Everyone went gaagaa over the newest bitchfest: admin abuse. Apparently, some people who run public servers for the game are assholes. Big surprise. Asshole players AND asshole admins? Whoa! What a coincidence.

I would direct you to a grand webpage. www.3gamerchicks.com. Simply cool. Chicks even weirder than me (a considerable feat). I admire them greatly. They have an uncompromising hatred of bad things. However, they don't quite give Cowboy BeBop the appropriate accolades. Still, a better group of people does not likely exist in Kansas.
